How?

On November 7, 2023, the citizens of North Charleston will have the opportunity to elect a new Mayor. Finally, Citizens including African Americans and other minorities in North Charleston, will have the capability to elect a Mayor who will be loyal to justice, open to accountability, unafraid of transparency, committed to fairness and willing to allow African Americans and other minorities an opportunity to have parity in the portioning of North Charleston’s one hundred million dollar plus Budget. You can begin to educate yourself, your brother, and sister of how important it is for them to cast their vote for a better way of life by electing John Singletary as the new Mayor of North Charleston. A municipality in sync with equality based upon parity works for all citizens. Correcting a municipality that is in violation of parity compliance requires the help of its citizens. First, a well-qualified candidate willing to put himself up and endure personal sacrifices is necessary. John Singletary has fulfilled that requirement. Second, citizens must participate in the democratic process and collectively cast their vote for that candidate. Your vote counts and I know you will do your part. Next, together we must take on the responsibility of educating others of the necessity of participating and casting their vote for John Singletary on Nov. 7, 2023. Finally, we must not allow rain, snow, sunshine or any other superficial obstacle to deter us on Nov. 7, 2023, from casting our vote for John Singletary to be elected as Mayor of North Charleston.

North Charleston has a larger number of African American citizens than any city in South Carolina.

2015 was the first year North Charleston African Americans casted votes in excess of 2,500 in the mayoral election. In 2015 there were 5,513 African
Americans who voted. This was greater than a 100% increase. In spite of out voting all other races combined, 28,000 African Americans still did not vote and nearly 8,000 were denied their right to vote because they live in “doughnut holes” purposefully created by North Charleston’s City Administration. Our community needs your vote!

African Americans in North Charleston over the past 20 plus years
have at best received only 3% of the contracts from the present Mayor.
It is mindboggling why the African American Community continues to
give him 30% of their votes. When any Mayor sees you as unfit to
receive your fair share of contracts, you are not obligated to vote for him
or her. Voting is a precious right that must be used to improve your
local community.

  • African Americans in North Charleston, in 2015, outvoted all other races combined.
  • Still, 28,000 registered African Americans in North Charleston did not vote.
  • African Americans in North Charleston must unify and cast a single community vote for the position of Mayor.
